Role:
This position will work closely with lending staff to make credit decisions based on credit union lending policy and cultivate a strong lending pipeline. The ability to build and maintain strong dealer relationships is critical for success.

Summary of Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develop, train and monitor underwriters to ensure safety and soundness. Recommend policy and procedure updates as needed.
- Direct, motivate, and manage the performance of department personnel; administer performance evaluations and recommend appropriate personnel actions. Ensure prompt loan decisions, processing and funding of loans, resulting in department goals and objectives being met.
- Take escalated/supervisor calls.
- Review, analyze, and underwrite indirect loan applications including retail and third-party referrals. Review credit applications, credit reports, calculate applicable ratios (i.e. Debt ratios, loan-to-value) evaluate borrower circumstances and determine loan decision based on policies and guidelines.
- Gather required information & documentation from dealer, member, or 3rd party partner and prepare loan for booking (Funding) by entering required data in systems.
- Follow set procedures when booking loans in the core system, disbursing loan proceeds, ensuring daily funded totals are in balance.
- Foster positive and productive relationships with dealers and other third parties, in person and on the phone.
- Participate in quality control of loan files, verify accuracy of documentation, and assist funding with collecting pending conditional items as needed.
- Make decision to approve, counteroffer, or deny loan requests that are outside of credit union lending guidelines but within policy.
- Authorize release of collateral on existing loans, changes in loan terms, waivers of payments, due date change, etc.
- Review, analyze and create various lending reports. Utilize performance analytics to evaluate dealerships volumes, participation, current and on-going relationships.
- Work with dealerships to correct outlying portfolio performance and/or establish appropriate corrective action to rectify dealership or vendor performance.
Hours:
- Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm, some weekends and holidays
- Rotating Saturdays
- Remote work is available after 90 days (Hybrid).
- Frequent travel to auto dealerships to build and maintain relationships is required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Five to eight years of similar experience in indirect lending, sales, and supervising others.
- One to two years of building and maintaining strong dealer relationships.
